Moving
- Rise early. Make sure you have something substantial to eat, you'll need it.
- Discuss the move with the firm when the van(s) arrive. Make sure you know and understand how they intend to proceed.
- Point out any boxes containing fragile items.
- Make the removal people and yourselves a drink mid-morning.
- When everything has been packed in the van(s), make a thorough check, room by room, starting at the top of the house, before you allow the removers to depart.
Check with the removers their expected time of arrival at the new house so you can be there to let them in. - Lock the house and take the keys to wherever you previously arranged the hand-over.
- Pick up the keys to the new house as pre-arranged.
- Meet the removers and supervise the unpacking of the van.
- Remember to have a meal mid-day even if it is only a bar snack, or fish and chips. * Check services are all been connected.
If you ordered wardrobe crates the removers will assemble your wardrobes and re-hang your clothes. Make sure beds and bedding are unpacked, assembled and ready for sleep because you will be more then ready when the time comes.
You might want to print off this checklist and use it in the preparations for your move.
